Obuv Rossii invests 500 million rubles in the development of production in 2017

Obuv Rossii group of companies announced plans to invest 500 million rubles in the development of production in 2017. This was announced by Anton Titov, founder and director of the Obuv Rossii group of companies, at the press conference “Import Substitution in the Region: Results and Prospects”, which was held at Interfax-Siberia on Thursday, November 10. The funds will be primarily aimed at upgrading equipment and expanding the cutting and sewing workshop.

Obuv Rossii implements a seven-year production development program, the volume of which is 5 billion rubles, of which 2 billion rubles are own funds. By 2022, the company expects to increase the production of shoes by three times - up to 1,5 million pairs. As part of the implementation of this program, the company in 2015-2016. Already invested 800 million rubles in the modernization of equipment, the launch of new production lines. This year, Obuv Rossii acquired two sets of Orisol automated sewing systems, and began manufacturing special-purpose shoes; in the fall, the company expanded its production facilities by 1,5 times - up to 5,8 thousand sq.m.

One of the factors that contribute to the development of Russian production at present is the devaluation of the ruble. However, as Anton Titov noted, it is not worthwhile to base your strategy on the devaluation effect only, since its effect is short-term. Russian manufacturers can use the current situation to modernize production, introduce automated systems, improve product quality and continue to be competitive at the global level. The company considers a segment of special footwear to be a promising direction for itself.

In 2016, the situation in the Russian shoe market is stabilizing and there are positive trends. So, according to the Discovery Research Group, in the 1st half of 2016, the growth in Russian production amounted to 6%. At the same time, imports continue to decline: a decline for six months of this year amounted to 22%.

The Obuv Rossii group of companies is one of the three largest footwear retailers in Russia, founded in 2003, headquartered in Novosibirsk. The main business areas are footwear production, retail and wholesale trade in footwear and related products. Obuv Rossii is developing five shoe chains: Westfalika (mono-brand, mid-price segment), Pedestrian (multi-brand shoe supermarket), Emilia Estra (shoes boutique), Rossita (store for the whole family) and Lisette (fashion shoe salons). The shoe chain "Obuv Rossii" today has more than 450 stores in more than 100 cities. The company's revenue in 2015 according to RAS amounted to 9 billion rubles, net profit - 1,3 billion rubles.
