The Obuv Rossii group of companies will launch an online marketplace based on the online store of its main brand, westfalika.ru. According to the marketplace model, an assortment will be sold that is not presented in the group's stores - these are large-sized goods that do not fit on retail space or goods of a higher price category, as well as goods from third-party suppliers that the company takes for sale in its stores.
This project will allow Shoe of Russia to increase retail efficiency without increasing retail space, as well as expand the audience of online buyers at the expense of residents of small cities where the level of penetration of online trading is not very high, and older consumers who do not yet have a large online shopping experience. It is estimated that the online marketplace in the next two years may increase revenue by more than 30%.
It will be possible to order goods in the online marketplace, including in stores included in the Shoe of Russia retail network, for this purpose special places will be equipped at retail outlets and computers with Internet access will be installed. In March, the project will work in test mode in more than 30 stores of the company in 11 cities of the Siberian region, such as Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Barnaul, Biysk, Omsk, Novokuznetsk, Gorno-Altaysk and others. In the second half of the year, other regions will begin to connect to the project.
“The main audience of our online marketplace are those people who still have little experience in making online purchases. These are residents of small regional cities in which we mainly opened stores in the last two years (in 2018-2019, we doubled our own retail network and entered more than 220 new cities). In such settlements, the level of penetration of online commerce is not very high. As well as older consumers who are quite conservative and still distrust shopping in online stores. Thus, we will help our customers master a new convenient channel for shopping. To do this, we equip stores with special places, sales consultants will help customers place online orders. - comments director of the Obuv Rossii group of companies Anton Titov. “The online marketplace will also allow us to significantly expand our offer with products not represented in our stores due to restrictions on retail space.”
All products can be purchased with installment payment. For the client, delivery to the store or to another address that the buyer chooses will be available. At the first stage, the online marketplace warehouse will be organized in Novosibirsk. In the future, when the project is operational throughout the network, the area in the company's regional warehouses will be used for its tasks.
The main online platform for Shoe of Russia westfalika.ru will work both on the model of a regular online store (assortment of shoes, clothes, accessories), and on the model of a market place (new product categories not presented in retail or presented in limited quantities and not according to the entire network). Among the goods that can be purchased at the marketplace are large-sized goods (household goods, summer cottages, children's goods), as well as goods from a higher price segment (Czech dishes “Bohemia”, etc.).
