Shoemakers predict shortage of athletic shoes

At the end of April, the presentation of the fall-winter 2011 collections of two sports footwear brands WBL and ANTA ended. According to the company "Mila - footwear wholesale", the results of the presentations showed a decrease in sales by an average of 30% compared to the same period in 2010. For example, orders for TM WBL amounted to just over 16 thousand pairs, for TM ANTA - more than 13 thousand pairs.

“In this regard, trade is expected to remain with large balances from the current season, and applications for the second half will be greatly truncated. Accordingly, we will send suppliers less orders for children's sports shoes in bulk, and the supply of goods will also be in limited quantities. Therefore, we can assume a certain shortage of shoes for sports and outdoor activities in the second half of the 2011 year, ”says Alexander Borodin, manager of Mila - Wholesale Shoes. The company believes that the shortage of sports shoes will begin to be felt already before the start of the school season.

Mila company is one of the three largest players in the shoe market in the Urals Federal District and is a leader in the wholesale of children's shoes. Engaged in the wholesale supply of shoes in the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen and Kurgan regions, in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug and on the Yamal Peninsula. The company's turnover is about 315 million rubles.
