Clothing and shoes are marked with QR and Data Matrix codes.

The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, in his speech at the IV All-Russian Forum of Light Industry, said that a new stage in the labeling of goods would unfold over the next two years. Leather shoes, outerwear, jackets, blouses, shirts, suits, bedding and table linen will be marked, RNS writes.

Light industry products will be labeled with QR and Data Matrix codes. According to Manturov, this method of labeling is optimal for consumer goods and will not lead to higher prices for products.

Labeling of goods is carried out in order to combat counterfeit products. For the first time, the marking of fur products was launched in Russia as part of the pilot project 12 on August 2016. Labeling is mandatory for all participants in the turnover of fur products - from the manufacturer to the retailer and is carried out in the countries of the economic union - Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Over the year, Rospotrebnadzor in Russia identified unmarked goods worth 350 million rubles. The State Duma has extended the pilot project for marking fur coats until December 31 2018.
