The Odnoklassniki social network, owned by Mail.Ru Group, has opened a service that allows retailers to create online stores within the network. Now users will be able to order products without leaving their account.
“The buyer orders the goods directly from his account, the goods are delivered by the seller’s courier, payment takes place upon receipt of the order,” explained Ilya Shirokov, head of the social network. According to him, Odnoklassniki plans to receive a percentage of sales in the amount of 3%.
“Shops are an additional tool for the development of groups that will help both novice entrepreneurs and large online stores,” Shirokov said.
Ilya Shirokov is sure that large online platforms will definitely want to have their own stores inside Odnoklassniki. “Now the daily audience totals 40 million users, not every online store can boast of such statistics,” he explained.
However, it is worth noting that a similar service launched the VKontakte social network in 2010. The service was closed two years ago due to low popularity.
