Such data are provided by BrandMonitor in the report “Counterfeit trade from the point of view of sellers”. The research company conducted a survey of sellers in different cities of Russia, during which only 31% of the sellers surveyed said that they were selling original goods.
In Kazan, the number of counterfeit dealers was the largest - 89% of the respondents, in Krasnoyarsk - 78%, in Moscow -70%, in Ufa - 71%.
Counterfeit sellers are concentrated in islets in shopping centers (82%), fewer in pavilions (67%) and stores (58%).
Merchants who admit to trading in fakes often think (46%) that their activities are not against the law. Approximately 20% of counterfeit dealers assume that their goods may be of poor quality, 10% are sure that counterfeits are better than the original, and 70% of counterfeit sellers insist that their goods are of excellent quality.
Buyers of counterfeit products often receive invoices (43%) instead of checks, and in 23% of cases any other documents.
