Omsk “lefty” broke a record for the second time, dumping the world's smallest felt boots

Microminiaturist Anatoly Konenko for the second time broke the record for creating the smallest felt boots in the world: winter shoes, which he finished making recently, has a size of 1,5 mm in foot length, which is 0,5 mm smaller than that of the nearest competitor.

In mid-December of 2011, Konenko submitted an application to the Guinness Book of Records for the creation of the smallest felt felt boots in the world, the size of which does not exceed three millimeters, previously the record was six millimeters. However, in January, a craftsman from the Ivanovo region in response managed to create winter shoes measuring just two millimeters.

“There was a news in the news that a 2 mm long felt boot was made in the Ivanovo region. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that from the text of the message it becomes obvious that only one felt boot was made, which greatly simplifies the task. It is much more difficult to make two miniature felt boots of the same size, ”Konenko commented.
According to him, he managed to create a pair of felt boots using wet felting, which turned out to be less by 0,5 mm than that of a competitor.

“In order to understand how difficult it is to make microfinance using wet felting technology, we studied these processes in theory and practice. As a result, we managed to knock down felt boots from the wool, first in 5 mm, then in 4 mm, and at the end of our experiments in 3 mm along the length of the foot. All processes were performed under a microscope for greater accuracy, ”the author added.

According to the microminiaturist, the smallest felt boot was previously made by the Sokolov family from the city of Kineshma, its size did not exceed 6 mm. They also made the largest felt boots in the world with a height of 167 cm with a foot length of 110 cm, RIA Novosti reports.
