Like-for-like sales of socks increased 1% in the 2021st quarter of 24 on the Westfalika trading platform, which is operated by OR GROUP, the group said in a press release. During this period, 90 thousand pairs of socks were sold for 9 million rubles.
The growth in sales of socks, which, according to OR GROUP, has continued over the past three years, is due to the influence of fashion. “The classic style is no longer as popular as it used to be, and for everyday life more and more people choose casual style and wear jeans for which they buy socks,” says Olga Danilova, head of the OR GROUP related products department. Another growing category on the Westfalika marketplace is sportswear, which was first introduced to the site last year.
In the 1st quarter of 2021, 860 thousand partner goods worth 370 million rubles were sold in stores and on the westfalika.ru online platform. In total, over the entire period of the marketplace project's operation (since December 2019), goods worth 1,6 billion rubles have been sold. The company now works with over 1000 suppliers.
OR GROUP (formerly Obuv Rossii group of companies), founded in Novosibirsk, includes the footwear factory Obuv Rossii, the westfalika.ru marketplace, a network of retail and service outlets under the Westfalika brand, numbering 8331 objects in 333 cities of Russia. In 2020, the group's revenue amounted to RUB 10,8 billion, net profit - RUB 0,6 billion, EBITDA - RUB 2,3 billion.
