Founder of Eldorado will sell inexpensive shoes

The founder of the Eldorado chain, Igor Yakovlev, during 2012 invests about $ 150 million in the creation of a network of stores of affordable Kari shoes in Russia, Poland, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.

According to Kommersant, by the end of 2012, 150 retail outlets should open in the network, the first points should open in July. A top manager of a Moscow footwear network said that the chain's stores will sell women's and men's shoes under their own brands, made to order. An order has already been placed for the first batch of shoes - in China.

According to Yakovlev, the network operator was Kari LLC, which was headed by Valentin Dmitriev, the former financial director of Eldorado Ukraine. According to sources surrounded by Yakovlev, he has been studying new projects since 2009, when he lost control of Eldorado. In the spring of 2011, he was negotiating the purchase of the Obuv.com network, but the deal did not take place, the Vedomosti newspaper writes.
