Luxury brand Kenzo has announced the appointment of Japanese designer founder of streetwear brand A Bathing Ape Nigo (full name Tomoaki Nagao) as Creative Director. Nigo will start work on September 20 and show his first collection for Kenzo in January 2022, writes WWD.

As Creative Director of Kenzo, Nigo replaced Philippe Olivero Batista, who stepped down in April 2021 after two years of work.
“Takada's approach to creating originality was his understanding of many cultures. This is also the essence of my own philosophy of creativity. Inheriting Kenzo san's spirit of craftsmanship to create the new Kenzo is the greatest challenge in my 30-year career that I intend to tackle with the team, ”says Nigo.
Along with Nigo, Kenzo will bring a new CEO to Sylvain Blanc, former CEO of Etam Group's Undiz.
