The reshuffle in the creative workshops of luxury brands continues. The founders of Proenza Schouler, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, who left the creative direction of their own brand, will become artistic directors of the Spanish fashion house Loewe, which is part of LVMH.
The design duo will replace Irishman Jonathan Anderson, who stepped down as creative director of Loewe on March 17.
"Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez have been appointed full creative responsibility for all Loewe collections – women's, men's, leather goods and accessories. Their appointments will take effect on April 7," Loewe said in a statement.
American designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez founded Proenza Schouler in 2002 and stepped down in January, remaining shareholders.
“We are extremely honored to join Loewe, a brand whose values and mission are completely aligned with ours,” the designer duo said in a statement.
Anderson spent 11 years as creative director of Loewe and is widely reported to be the leading candidate to take over as creative director of Dior. Dior is part of the luxury group LVMH, owned by French billionaire Bernard Arnault.
