Expectations for economic improvement do not revive demand

Despite the improvement of Russians' expectations about the situation in the economy, there is no improvement in demand in retail, the ADV advertising group reports.

In May, 35% of consumers said they were counting on improving the economic situation in Russia by the end of 2015. In autumn 2014, this figure was only 11%.

The number of "thrifty" Russians has increased. According to the answers, 47% of the respondents save on clothes and shoes, 44% - on electronics and household appliances, 39% - on goods for home and repair. In October 2014, their share was 36%, 36% and 33%, respectively.
