Ozon intends to build a warehouse of 104 thousand square meters. m. in Kaluga

Internet Solutions LLC (Russian legal entity of the Ozon marketplace) announced the selection of developers for the construction of a universal warehouse for food and non-food products on 104 thousand square meters. m. in Kaluga. According to experts, investments in the warehouse could reach 7,8 billion rubles, writes RB.RU.

The warehouse will be built in Kaluga “by the efforts and at the expense of the developer according to Ozon’s technical specifications”; the company will subsequently lease it, as follows from the marketplace materials. The first stage of the warehouse will be launched in the first and second quarters of 2026, the second - in the first half of 2027. The warehouse will be located on a site of 15 hectares and there should be accessible access roads next to it.

Ozon reported that investments in the development of logistics infrastructure are related to the need for fast delivery. “By the end of the second quarter of 2024, the area of ​​our logistics infrastructure increased to 2,8 million square meters, and 134 million Russians have a pick-up point within walking distance of their homes. This strategy brings results: every fourth order for Ozon from April to July we delivered to cities with a population of up to 50 thousand inhabitants,” explained the marketplace’s press service.

Marketplace is considering a scheme for constructing a warehouse complex for its own needs using a third-party developer, and the most common scheme on the market is construction for rent.

Several developers are already “at an advanced stage of development” in negotiations with Ozon.
