The Ozon.kz online marketplace is launching in Kazakhstan. The launch of a local storefront will provide convenient ordering for Ozon customers in Kazakhstan and expand the customer base.
The local showcase is adapted for buyers in the Republic - it displays only the available assortment, prices are indicated in the local currency (tenge), full-fledged customer support is organized in two languages. On the showcase, goods of both Russian sellers and entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan are available for order.
Buyers will be able to receive an order from Ozon in any region of Kazakhstan: delivery is available to Ozon branded pickup points, delivery by courier in Almaty, Astana and Karaganda, as well as delivery to more than 2400 post offices of Kazpost across the country.
“Kazakhstan is a strategically important region for Ozon. We have been actively investing in the region since 2021: we have already launched two large warehouse complexes in Astana and Almaty. The launch of a local storefront is not only the convenience of making purchases on the marketplace, but also a great opportunity in the future to connect popular financial services for buyers, such as loans and installments. We have already formed an active audience of buyers in Kazakhstan, we hope that the new technical launch will allow us to further expand the buyer audience in Kazakhstan,” comments Molder Rysalieva, CEO of Ozon in Kazakhstan.
Ozone is a leading multi-category marketplace and one of the largest Internet companies in Russia. The site features more than 150 million product names in more than 20 categories. Ozon is actively developing as an online platform — more than 90% of the site’s assortment is already formed by marketplace partners. Since 2021, the company has been developing its presence in the CIS countries - since then, Ozon has localized business in Kazakhstan and Belarus. To strengthen its position in these countries, Ozon began building its own logistics infrastructure and developing a marketplace platform for local entrepreneurs. In December 2022, the company localized its business in Kyrgyzstan and launched a sorting center in Bishkek.
