Pilot project to introduce Tax Free in Russia stimulated the growth of purchases of foreign tourists

The average check of foreign tourists in Russia amounted to 100 thousand rubles. In total, from April to December 2018, foreigners who visited Russia spent 8 billion rubles in it, - Izvestia writes with reference to the words of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.

Among the popular goods purchased by foreigners in Russia are clothes, shoes, leather goods, black caviar, cosmetics, jewelry and black caviar.

A project that allows buyers to return the amount of VAT paid during the purchase of goods in Russia, from April 2018, travelers from 180 countries took advantage of the most active Chinese.

For the entire period of the implementation of the pilot project for introducing the tax free RF system, the largest average check was recorded for citizens of Ukraine, Vietnam, Israel, the USA, China, Thailand, Mexico and Brazil.

As part of the pilot project, Tax Free return points are currently operating in 12 cities of Russia, including Moscow and St. Petersburg. The pilot project was extended until the end of 2019, after which a decision will be made on the fate of the system, it is possible that it will spread throughout the country.
