Bally Studio, the company in the Italian region of Lastra a Signa (Florence) that created prototypes for products by the Swiss luxury brand Bally and launched them into production, no longer exists.
The last 28 employees were laid off. The move to close the Florentine company was one of the first decisions made by Bally's new owner, US investment fund Regent LP. The fund acquired the struggling brand from German conglomerate Jab Holding last year.
Of the 55 employees present at the beginning of December 2024, when information was received about the owners' intention to close the company, 28 remained, who also received a letter of dismissal. The remaining employees have already left the company in search of new jobs.
The case of Bally Studio is one piece of the mosaic of crisis that has engulfed the Tuscan leather goods region, writes La Conceria.
