According to the Business of Fashion publication, designer Paul Andrew will step down as Creative Director of Italian luxury brand Salvatore Ferragamo in early May, following the completion of the Spring 2022 pre-collection.
While there is no information about who will replace Paul Andrew as creative director of Ferragamo, it is also unknown where the designer will go. Paul Andrew was hired as the creative designer of Salvatore Ferragamo womens footwear in 2016, and was later promoted to creative director of all collections for the brand. Prior to joining Ferragamo, Andrew worked with Calvin Klein, Alexander McQueen and Donna Karan, and he also ran his own footwear brand of the same name, which he launched in 2012.
Andrew's departure from the post of creative director of Salvatore Ferragamo was due to the desire of the family brand to change management in the hope of regaining its lost positions in the luxury market. As part of the reshuffle of the board of directors, Leonardo Ferragamo will replace his brother Ferruccio as chairman. The brand will also add three independent board members. Giacomo Ferragamo, who oversees the product and invited Andrew to Ferragamo, will return to the board of directors after leaving last year, while Giovanna, daughter of founder Salvatore, is set to leave her position at the company.
