Paul Andrew to leave Sergio Rossi

Last February, British designer Paul Andrew presented his first collection for the legendary Italian shoe brand. Now, reports have emerged of Paul Andrew's imminent departure as creative director of Sergio Rossi. Sources also believe the Sergio Rossi factory will be sold and transferred to Massimo Bonini, as reported by Footwearnews.com.

Paul Andrew was appointed creative director of Sergio Rossi in July 2024. His first collection for the Italian fashion house, whose founder, Sergio Rossi, died in 2020, was released in February 2025.

Working for Sergio Rossi, Andrew sought to breathe new life into the renowned footwear brand while maintaining respect for its heritage. He revisited Sergio Rossi's conical heels, pyramidal shoe lasts, eel leather—a material Rossi used in the 1990s—and the architectural shapes in shoe silhouettes pioneered by the founder.

Paul Andrew was delighted with the brand's factory and archives in San Mauro Pascoli, one of the main shoe-making centres in Italy.

Now, according to market sources, Lanvin Group is selling the Sergio Rossi factory. The new owners will be Massimo and Sabrina Bonini, founders of Milan-based Massimo Bonini, a major platform for the design and wholesale distribution of shoes and bags.

Sergio Rossi owner Lanvin Group is reportedly experiencing financial difficulties, with revenue falling 23% to €329 million in 2024. Losses increased to €189,3 million from €146,3 million the previous year. Adjusted loss before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization increased to $92,3 million from $64,2 million.
