The international leather trade fair Lineapelle, held in Milan from 17 to 19 September, attracted 23 industry professionals, slightly down on the previous edition in February, when attendance was 800. Organisers believe that the fair's correct focus on innovation helped offset "the natural decline in attendance caused by prolonged economic headwinds".
A total of 1261 exhibitors (including tanneries, accessory manufacturers and suppliers of components, textiles and synthetic materials from 43 countries) took part in Lineapelle.
Of the total number of visitors to the September edition of Lineapelle, there were 17 buyers (573% Italian, 57% foreign, representing 43 countries).
The slightly lower number of Italian visitors to the show was offset by an increase in international visitors, especially from the United States, China, India, Poland, Brazil and Mexico. Synergies created with Simac Tanning Tech, the international trade fair for leather, footwear and leather goods technologies, which celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, also helped to reinforce the event’s “progressive approach,” the organisers said.
The next Lineapelle exhibition will be held in Milan from 25 to 27 February 2025.
