Hussein Dirioz, Turkish Ambassador to Russia, Visits Euro Shoes Exhibition

On the first day of the Euro Shoes Premiere Collection, the exhibition was visited by Turkish Ambassador to Russia Hussein Dirioz and a delegation of representatives of Turkish shoe manufacturers.
Officials arrived at the exhibition marking the opening of the Turkish shoe national stand at Euro Shoes Premiere Collection, which introduced 35 shoe brands from that country.

“At present, Russian-Turkish relations are on the rise, this is especially noticeable in terms of developing business relations. In 2017, two presidents - Putin and Erdogan met eight times. The ministers of our two countries met twice, and almost every week the top officials of Russia and Turkey talk on the phone. First of all, they are conducting a dialogue on the Syrian issue. But following the improvement of mutual understanding in political issues, cooperation in business relations is growing, ”the ambassador noted in an interview with Shoes Report.

He stressed that trade between Russia and Turkey once reached $ 38 billion, but due to some cooling of relations between our two countries in recent years, this figure has decreased. Moreover, already last year the situation began to improve - the growth of trade between Russia and Turkey in 2017 amounted to about 40%. At present, the volume of trade is $ 22 billion.

“Our goal for the current and next years is to return to previous levels - $ 38 billion, and as the heads of our countries determined, in the future - to achieve a turnover of $ 100 billion,” Mr. Dirioz said.

Russia and Turkey are developing relations in the field of energy, construction, textiles, agriculture, food ... The shoe industry is one of the ten most important industries. Turkey is considered a leading country in the field of leather and footwear. At the same time, about 50% of production in this sector is exported. Currently, the Turkish state supports its companies wishing to develop exports by compensating for a significant part of their costs of participation in international exhibitions.
