The Italian Prada Group is going to increase its own production capacity and strengthen the craftsmanship and skills of its employees in Italy. The concern creates 400 new jobs to ensure further growth, writes Worldfootwear.com.
The expansion of the workforce will help strengthen the group's industrial strategy, create greater flexibility, and reduce time to market. The company already conducts all quality checks of raw materials and finished products, independently manages all logistics.
In addition, Prada Group strives to develop the skills and abilities of its employees while maintaining its own know-how. More than 200 “new positions will be filled by students of the Prada Group Academy, where new hires will learn handicraft and craftsmanship” in the leather goods, footwear and ready-to-wear segments.
The vocational school, founded in the early 2000s, is responsible for training young talent "who will become the next generation of experienced craftsmen". According to Massimo Vian, "The Prada Group Academy will play an increasingly important role in the future preservation of our know-how and know-how in the industry."
