Prada plans to allocate about 2023 million euros for the development of its own production sites and the acquisition of new technologies for 60, writes fashionmagazine.it.
A significant part of the investment will double the size of the Prada knitting factory in Torgiano, Perugia. The group, which also controls Miu Miu, Church's and Car Shoe, is seeking greater autonomy and flexibility in responding to market demands.
In 2022, Prada Group's revenue increased by 21% to 4,2 billion euros. Sales of shoes increased by 29%, clothing - by 27%, leather goods showed an increase of +18%. Profit rose 58% to $465 million.
According to Massimo Vian, industrial director of the group in Hong Kong, Prada produces about 10% of clothing, about 30% of leather goods and about 50% of shoes in-house. Last year, the group invested about 70 million euros in verticalization, technologies and production processes.
