Italy's Prada Group has appointed Luigi Preziotti as design director, and confirmed Dario Vitale in his current position as Miu Miu design director, writes Worldfootwear.com.
Following the departure of Fabio Zambardi, who oversaw the design of Prada and Miu Miu for 40 years, the Prada Group has announced a shake-up of its design team. Luigi Preziotti, who has been design director of women's collections since joining the fashion house in 2022, was appointed design director of Prada, while Dario Vitale was confirmed in his current position as design director of Miu Miu.
So, from now on, Preziotti, together with creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, will coordinate the “development of concepts, fashion shows and events related to image and identity” of the Prada Group, while Vitale will continue to work on the design of the Miu Miu brand and will report to Miuccia Prada.
The appointments follow a change in the group's leadership amid reports of strong performance from the luxury brands in its portfolio. In January, Andrea Guerra joined the group as CEO of the Prada group, and Gianfranco D'Attis became CEO of the Prada brand.
