Prada refuses to work with a number of wholesalers for price control

The Milan luxury brand intends to sever relations with some Italian and European wholesalers and gradually replace them with new partners in the e-commerce segment, writes BoF.

The Italian luxury group Prada said it would reduce the number of its wholesale distributors in Italy and Europe, with the aim of gaining more control over the prices of their products at different points of sale and reduce discounts.

The luxury brand, like a number of other players in the luxury market, is concerned about the inability to control pricing in the face of a boom in online sales that reigns in the market. For Prada, this decision is very important to ensure greater pricing consistency, the company said in a statement.
