“God Save My Shoes” will premiere on September 28th. This is the first documentary to explore the relationship between women and shoes.
Screenwriter and director - Julia Benasra, makes the film the American company CAID PRODUCTIONS.
The film will premiere on September 28 at Paris Fashion Week.
Julia wants to answer the question of how shoes took such an important place in pop culture, exploring the psychological, sociocultural and sexual value of shoes. The heroes and heroines of the film are designers, movie stars, owners of huge collections of shoes, fashion editors, historians, psychologists. Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blanic, Pierre Hardy, Bruno Frizoni, Fergie, Dita von Teese discuss the phenomenon of shoes. Filming took place in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Toronto, Milan and Florence.
In the film, one can see the rarest shootings of the full collection of Vogue shoes and 900 pairs of shoes collected by Beth Shack, a professional poker player.
CAID PRODUCTIONS is a creative marketing agency. In 2006, she produced the film JUST FOR KICKS, which received many awards. It was the first documentary about how sneakers from sports shoes turned into part of hip-hop culture and became a symbol of a whole generation.
For Julia Benasra, the film will be a directorial debut.
