Sales of clothing and footwear in Russia have decreased by 40,5% since February

According to Sberindex, sales of clothing, footwear and accessories have fallen by 40,5% since February. At the same time, about 23% of consumers cannot find the clothes and shoes they need, since over the past six months, about 100 international fashion brands have left the Russian market, - said Anush Gasparyan, Commercial Director of Fashion Consulting Group.

The expert also noted a decrease in consumer activity due to a decrease in the income of Russian citizens. In her opinion, many began to save on clothes and shoes. At the same time, 20% of consumers have adapted to the new realities and are ready to consider alternatives to foreign brands. The number of search queries in Yandex.ru for Russian brands increased by 183% compared to the same period a year earlier.

At the same time, the demand for premium goods increased by 16%, in the middle price segment the growth was 10%, and in the lower price segment the demand decreased by 7%.
