For the first 5 months of 2015, Italian shoe exports to Russia decreased by 35% compared to the same period last year, and compared to 2013 year by more than 2 times. From January to May 2015, the reduction in gross profit of Italian shoe manufacturers amounted to 80 million euros, and by the end of the year, according to experts, it will reach 200 million euros. Italian shoe makers are concerned about the decline in sales of their products in Russia and are taking measures to overcome the current situation. Fabi decided to update its product line by replacing premium-class products with shoes in the middle price range. The company Maxenior, the main supplier of equipment for the shoe industry, is studying in detail the possibility of supplying its equipment to Russia, not excluding the possibility of localizing its production in St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Rostov regions.
