Shoe production in Russia increased by 5,7%

The preliminary results of the industry's work in 2011 of the year began to be summed up by the Russian Union of tanners and shoe makers. 

According to the Federal State Statistics Service, leather production in 2011 decreased by 8,5% (growth rate was 91,5%). 

Shoe production increased by 5,7% (growth rate of 105,7%). According to experts, an increase in shoe production was facilitated by a slight decrease in shoe imports, according to the website of the Union of Tanners and Shoemakers.
