Shoe production in Russia in 2017 year increased by 7,5%
The growth of footwear production in 2017 in the Russian Federation amounted to 7,5%. In total, in 2017, 103,6 million pairs of shoes were produced in the country, such statistics were cited in the report of the Russian Union of Tanners and Shoemakers (RSKO) at the annual congress of the union, which was held on May 16 in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
The RSKO report noted that the stabilization of footwear production in Russia was achieved through the adoption of systematic measures of state regulation and support to the leather and footwear industries despite the unfavorable market situation - a decrease in livestock numbers, a sharp drop in the ruble, a decrease in purchasing power and an increase in shoe imports.

Also, the report of the RSKO notes that in 2017, with the assistance of the Union, 5 resolutions of the Government of the Russian Federation on a temporary ban on the export of semi-finished products were adopted.
