A major reorganization of Puma's global marketing division will see the relocation of brand development and marketing operations from Boston to Puma's German headquarters.
From July 1, Puma's global marketing arm will be based at the company's German headquarters in Herzogenaurach. The move will “improve alignment and accelerate decision-making across the company’s global business units,” Puma said in a statement. At the same time, the company's marketing structure in the North American region will be given more responsibility for developing local sports marketing and managing brand partnerships in the US market.
In this context, Puma's current global brand director, Adam Petrik, who has been with the company for over twenty years, will leave his post, but only at the end of the year "to ensure a smooth transition." The brand's global marketing organization will now be led by Puma Regional General Manager Europe Ricard Teissier. The company emphasized that prior to joining Puma in 2010, he led the brand management and marketing functions at Mars for 17 years.
