The chain of stores of the French sports retailer Decathlon is moving away from the usual areas of large suburban stores and is starting to develop a medium format on the Russian market. A new Decathlon with an area of 814 sq. M was opened in Moscow at the Park House Signal Mall; in the near future, similar-sized stores will appear near the Ryazansky Prospekt and Novokosino metro stations.
The new Decathlon Easy format will help the company strengthen its market presence and increase chain turnover. 1,5 thousand sq. m, the main clothing and footwear lines will be presented, while there will be no consultants in the sales areas. Until the end of 2016, Decathlon plans to open 18 stores in Moscow alone, and after that - 58 new stores in St. Petersburg and other regions. Today the network includes more than 800 stores in 21 countries of the world. In Russia, the company has 18 stores in 11 cities.
