Retailers will be obliged to hang steps on clothes and shoes

The Ministry of Industry and Trade intends to supply radio-frequency steps with clothing and footwear labels that are in use in the territory of the Customs Union member countries. Officials believe that this measure will help rid the market of counterfeit goods. The agency proposes to use an identification system, developed in due time by specialists of the Rusnano Corporation for the pharmaceutical industry. You can enter data on a chip and read it using special devices that manufacturers, customs officers, wholesalers and retailers who will accept goods for sale will have to acquire.

According to clothing manufacturers, this will hurt the finances of enterprises, especially small ones. They will have to pay both for the tags themselves and for the equipment that will enter and read information. Nevertheless, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is decisive: all the member states of the Customs Union (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan) should be connected to the goods identification system.

Recall that according to the Federal Customs Service (FCS), since 2007, 70 million units of counterfeit products have been identified in the Russian Federation. As noted in the FCS, the main nomenclature of the identified counterfeit goods is clothing, shoes and children's toys.
