Roskachestvo revealed the content of toxic substances in running shoes

Experts from the Russian monitoring system "Roskachestvo" conducted a study of the quality of men's running shoes according to 94 indicators of safety, quality, biomechanical properties and labeling. The objects of the study were running shoes of 16 brands. It turned out that in terms of the content of hazardous substances and / or the toxicity index, almost all the studied goods (16 TM) do not meet the requirements of TR CU 017/2011, writes riamoda.ru.

Dibutyl phthalate, a toxic substance (plasticizer) that has the property of accumulating in the body and negatively affecting the reproductive system, was found in the soles of many goods. Given that trendy sneakers are the everyday footwear of teenagers and young adults, running shoes are a real source of danger.

At the same time, it is impossible to prohibit the sale of such products in Russia. If the goods are declared as clothing and footwear for professional sports (running), then they are not directly subject to the technical regulation - TR CU 017/2011. And there is no other regulation for sportswear and footwear in Russia yet. The State Commission for Combating Illegal Circulation of Industrial Products decided that it would deal with the issue of eliminating the legal gap.
