The Russian government issued a Decree on expanding the list of goods prohibited from importing from the territory of Ukraine into the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as on restricting export. Under the ban on the import of goods from Ukraine to Russia, among other things, clothes and shoes fell.
In particular, in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of 18 April 2019 No. 460-25 “On Amending the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of 29 December 2018 of the Year No. 1716-83, shoes were banned from importing goods from Ukraine to Russia, namely :
shoes without soles, shoes with soles and tops made of rubber or plastic, shoes with soles made of rubber, plastic, natural or composite leather and genuine leather, details of shoes (including blanks for upper shoes with attached or not attached main insole) insoles, heels and similar products, leg warmers, gaiters and similar products and their details.
It is also forbidden to import a number of items from clothing, as well as pipe products from ferrous metals, including for oil and gas pipelines, and bulldozers.
Such sanctions by the Russian Government followed in response to Ukraine expanding the list of Russian goods prohibited for import. On 10 on April, the Ukrainian government expanded the list of Russian goods banned from import into the customs territory of the country.
