The Russian Export Center and Alibaba Group will launch a program to export Russian goods to China. Aleksey Murzenok, Director for Development of Electronic Trade at the Russian Export Center, spoke about this during a panel discussion at the Made in Russia forum.
It is planned that the Made in Russia project will be launched at the end of 2022. Russian manufacturers will be able to sell their goods on the Alibaba Group site. Goods from Russian sellers will be purchased directly for further distribution through the channels available to the Alibaba Group and promoted through the online and offline tools available in its system.
In a video message, Alibaba Group's China Export Project Manager for Global Sales of Alibaba Group, Summer Gao, clarified that these will be purchases of both wholesale and retail products, and the "primary list of requests" has already been formed. Alibaba has already launched similar projects with partners from EU countries.
“The REC helps Russian exporters find partners to rebuild the model of work on global platforms, enter new markets in order to reorient trade flows and create new sales channels in the face of a reduction in traditional ones. One such example is our new project, which we are launching this year together with our long-term partner, Alibaba Group," TASS quotes Alexey Murzenok.
Among the largest e-shops operated by Alibaba Group in China are Alibaba.com, Taobao, Tmall.
