The online job search platform hh.ru analyzed the vacancies of Russian retail companies and stated an increase in the supply of vacancies in the retail sector with a decrease in the number of resumes. So the hh-index, which reflects the level of competition for staff, reached a record low in retail in June this year - 1,8 resumes per vacancy (in June 2022 - 3,5 resumes per job), writes New Retail.
The increase in salaries was also a consequence of the shortage of personnel. So, in 2022, the salary range in retail trade was 33-59,8 thousand rubles, and already in the first half of 2023 - 34,7-63,2 thousand rubles.
“The labor market is getting tighter, especially for mass roles and blue-collar jobs. It is not yet necessary to expect changes for the better, there are no more people in retail. On the contrary, since March of this year, the dynamics of the summary compared to the indicators of 2022 has shown negative values. So, for example, in April 2023 (compared to the same period last year), the number of resumes in the retail sector decreased by 11%, in May - by 17% (compared to May 2022), and in June already by 21% (compared to June 2022, respectively). The gap between the expectations of employers and the offer from candidates is progressing,” comments Natalia Danina, Chief Labor Market Expert, Head of Client Efficiency at hh.ru.
Most often, employers are looking for sales assistants and cashiers - they account for 66% of vacancies from the retail sector. The national average salary range for such specialists is 31,4-51,7 thousand rubles. 12% of offers fall on store administrators and sales floor administrators (36,2-53,9 thousand rubles). The third place in popularity is occupied by directors of stores and chains of stores - 9% of vacancies from the total number of offers in retail (50-80 rubles). The top 5 in-demand specialties also included a merchandiser (7%, salary range: 31-51,7 thousand rubles) and a merchandiser (4% of vacancies, 36,8-52,9 thousand rubles). At the same time, in 50% of cases, companies are looking for candidates without work experience, in 42% of offers, experience from 1 to 3 years is required, and more than 3 years - only in 8% of vacancies.
