The market for online sales of clothing and footwear in Russia will reach 200 billion rubles
President of KupiVIP.ru holding Oscar Hartmann gave a forecast for the development of the online sales market at the Internet Entrepreneurship in Russia forum.
“Today the Internet and the online retail market continue to develop by leaps and bounds. In five years, the market for online sales of clothing and footwear in Russia will reach 200 billion rubles, in ten years - 300-400 billion rubles, and 75% of them will be occupied by offline players who have come online. Online sales will account for 15–20% of the total fashion retail market in Russia, ”said Oskar Hartmann during his speech.
The event was held on June 11 in the presence of Head of State Vladimir Putin, the leadership of large Internet companies, representatives of investment funds and development institutions.
It was noted at the forum that now Internet business occupies about 10% of Russian GDP. In connection with its forthcoming expansion, it is not excluded the need to change legislation in order to improve the investment climate.
Much attention was paid to online startups. Vladimir Putin suggested that the Russian Internet needs to develop its technology and use its own software. The training of specialists at the appropriate level requires the possibility of internships and seminars.
