Saks Global will close nine stores as part of a strategic network optimization.
The luxury department store group, which filed for bankruptcy in January 2026, will close eight Saks Fifth Avenue stores and one Neiman Marcus store as part of a plan to restructure and streamline its network, writes Worldfootwear.com.
All nine stores are located in various US cities. Fourteen Fifth Avenue Club locations will also be closed, leaving only two operating stores in the US. There will be no changes to the Bergdorf Goodman store network.
According to Geoffroy van Raemdonck, CEO of Saks Global, the store network optimization will allow Saks to “better position itself to deliver exceptional merchandise, high-quality service, and personalized experiences across all channels, while creating the conditions for investments that drive long-term growth and value creation.”
Additionally, the group is shutting down Horchow.com and moving Horchow's selection of high-end designer furniture and home goods to NeimanMarcus.com, effective February 19.
Previously, the global department store chain Saks Fifth Avenue had 42 stores, the luxury store chain Neiman Marcus had 36 stores, and Bergdorf Goodman had 2 stores.
