A highlight of New York Fashion Week, which ran from September 4 to 11, was the collaboration between Brazilian shoe brand Larroudé and New York women's clothing brand Markarian. The hit of the collection were knee-high boots with a patchwork upper in red.
Overall, the Larroudé x Markarian collection draws attention to its unusual shoe design, where the floral motif and the unique texture of the upper dominate – fabrics from the Markarian fall 2024 collection were used in various styles. The shoe line also includes wedge sandals, sandals, ballet flats, mules and other models made of wool, suede and velvet with floral patterns.
It is noteworthy that the Brazilian Larroudé was founded in the pandemic year of 2020 by former Teen Vogue fashion editor Marina Larroudé and her husband, financier and entrepreneur Ricardo Larroudé. Successful first collaborations with Melissa and Oscar de la Renta allowed the company to acquire wholesale clients such as Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue... within the first two years.
The Larroudé x Markarian collection is now available at Larroudé's online store, with prices for the shoes ranging from $350 to $650.
