The next World Shoe Congress will be held in Istanbul in May 2023.

The European Footwear Industry Confederation (CEC) announced at the MICAM shoe and accessories exhibition in Milan that the 7th edition of the World Footwear Congress (WFC) will be held in Istanbul from May 9 to 11, 2023, writes Worldfootwear. com.

The next World Shoe Congress, which was established in 2003 to bring shoe manufacturers from all over the world together, will be co-organized by the CEC with the Association of Turkish Footwear Manufacturers (TASD) and will take place in Istanbul, the city where Europe and Asia meet.

At the CEC meeting, which was held yesterday in connection with the largest international exhibition of shoes and accessories MICAM in Milan, which ended today.

“In less than three years since the last Congress in Naples, the world has experienced serious problems that it has not experienced since the Second World War. It all started with a pandemic, followed by transport disruptions, material shortages, accelerated climate change, military action, an energy crisis, huge inflation rates, and more,” the CEC management said in a statement. The European organization believes that the motto of the upcoming Congress should be the development of a new policy for the footwear sector in the New World. The choice of Istanbul as the venue for the Congress is also due to the active development of the shoe industry in Turkey in recent years.

During the Congress, companies will have the opportunity to share information, exchange experiences, learn, meet other companies and visit factories. More details about the event will be announced at the press conference of the AYMOD exhibition in Istanbul on September 29, 2022. In addition, a special website with information about the event will soon appear on the Web.
