Smart sneakers for Pokemon Go launch in the US

Two companies immediately announced their intention to create sneakers for the game Pokemon Go.

American companies High Beam Shoes and start-up Vixole have announced that they are going to produce sneakers for Pokemon Go players. High Beam Shoes has already developed technology that will allow the Pokemon Go player to recognize the presence of Pokemon when approaching them using sneakers, which will signal the presence of a Pokemon with a flash and sound signal. Thus, players do not have to look into their mobile application all the time. Retail smart sneakers will cost about $ 38, the shoes will go on sale in September.

High Beam Shoes is a private family brand. The company specializes in illuminated footwear. According to Joe Goodrich, vice president of High Beam Shoes, the company has been working on technology for the last eight months to synchronize the shoes with the Accidents game, and as soon as the developers managed to create the technology thanks to which the sneakers learned to recognize "friends' shoes", the Pokemon Go game was launched. ... Thus, it will not be difficult to reconfigure the technology for the new popular High Beam Shoes game.

At the same time, US Vixole developers are just about to start developing technology for smart sneakers.

It is assumed that smart sneakers will be equipped with sensors for geolocation, light and proximity. They will help players find rare Pokémon by guiding the owner of the sneakers in their tracks. By running sneakers using a smartphone, the user will always be able to track their location and get directions using navigation satellites.

Shoes will be equipped with a built-in battery, which is enough for eight hours of active work. The kit will offer a wireless station designed to recharge your smartphone and shoes. In addition, the sneakers will be waterproof.

Currently, the company has created a startup and is in search of financing.
