Founder and co-owner of the company Horst Wortmann transfers toproactively leading a group of companies to his nephew Jens Binning

Detmold, 18 May 2016 - The Wortmann group of companies from the German city of Detmold implements the next long-planned phase of a gradual change of generations as part of the management team. By the end of the current fiscal year (as of 31.05.2016), the founder and chief co-owner of the company, Horst Wortmann, is transferring operational management to his nephew Jens Beining. Gorst Wortmann continues to be a co-owner and managing director of the Wortmann Schuh-Holding KG group of companies.

The new chairman of the board, Jens Byning, has been a co-owner of the company for many years and will now lead a team of four company leaders. Many years of successful work at the head of the company guarantee the continuity, development and growth of the Wortmann group after generations.

8 May Gorst Wortmann turned 75 years old, but, passing on the operational management of the company, he continues to participate in the life of all subsidiaries of the group. As a co-owner and managing director of the Wortmann Schuh-Holding KG shoe holding, he will actively influence the strategic development aspects of the group of companies. In addition, he continues to be chairman of the Wortmann Foundation, founded in 2013. This family-owned fund owns a majority stake in the Wortmann group and acts as its liaison on the board between the co-owners of the company and its management. Not stopping there, Horst Wortmann will continue his active work in the framework of real estate projects, which include the preservation of the territory of the former Bundeswehr Hospital in Detmold.
