Experts estimate that real incomes of the Russian population have been falling for the eighth month in a row, Bloomberg reports. Such a decline could lead to a collapse in retail sales.
According to data published by the agency, in June, retail sales in the Russian market on an annualized basis will decrease by 8,9%. A fall in Russian incomes and a drop in retail sales may be a signal that the country's economy is no longer focused on consumer demand.
