Sportmaster is preparing to enter the European market

A major Russian retailer, Sportmaster Group, which operates stores in Russia, China and the CIS countries, is preparing to enter the European market by purchasing 33 stores of Go Sport Group in Poland, Kommersant writes with reference to the group’s counterparty.

The upcoming deal is also reported by the Polish media. Go Sport Poland is part of the French Go Sport Group. The acquisition of a retail network in Poland will enable the company to enter the European market. The Sportmaster does not comment on the transaction. Experts note that access to Europe will help reduce the economic and political risks for the group and increase its investment attractiveness.
