Demand for products of Russian fashion brands increased almost three times in 2022, Lamoda analysts say after studying user purchases in the Showroom section, which contains local platform brands.
The popularity of domestic brands is gaining momentum among the Russian consumer. According to Lamoda, online platforms selling fashion, beauty and lifestyle goods are especially popular with residents of the capital, Russian designer items accounted for almost half of sales in the Showroom category (48%). About 15% of sales came from residents of St. Petersburg, the same amount - from residents of the Moscow region. About 8% of sales were accounted for by platform clients from the Krasnodar Territory, 3% each from the Rostov and Sverdlovsk regions.
According to Lamoda, the TOP 5 most popular Russian clothing brands in 2022 (by the number of goods sold) included Top Top, 12storeez, Urban Tiger, Belle You and TrendyAngel. The top ten also included I Am Studio, Suara Femme, To Be Blossom, Imocean and Lichi.
“In April 2022, Lamoda launched a new Showroom section with young Russian local brands. Since the launch, the number of domestic brands has increased by 50%, and the range has grown by 200% - today it is more than 9 thousand products. We see great interest in clothing and cosmetics from Russian manufacturers, and we will continue to expand the range and replenish the catalog with trendy goods,” comments Anna Khomutova, head of the Lamoda women's clothing category management department.
