Metropolitan Leather, based in Kettering, Northamptonshire, was a leather goods manufacturer specializing in high-quality vegetable-tanned leather. At the Metropolitan Leather factory, leather was hand-crafted using traditional methods passed down through generations of skilled artisans.
The announcement of the business's closure came as a surprise to many, given that the company launched a new website on October 23rd. Metropolitan Leather announced the closure on its social media channels on November 12th: "It is with deep sadness and melancholy that we announce the immediate closure of Metropolitan Leather. Our current leather inventory will now be supplied by GH Leather." The reasons for the closure are currently unknown.
