Over the four months of this year, the export of shoes from Heilongjiang (Northeast China) to Russia amounted to 24,72 million pairs, decreasing by 15,2% compared to the same period last year, riamoda.ru reports.
At the same time, total exports of shoes from Heilongjiang amounted to 30,3 million pairs, including 81,6% of which were exported to Russia.
The data also show that in January-April, 23,52 million pairs of shoes were exported from Heilongjiang as part of small border trade, which was 15,6 percent less than the same period last year and amounted to 77,6 percent of total exports of shoes from Heilongjiang.
Chinese experts note that after Russia's accession to the WTO, market availability, investment climate and the level of customs tariffs in Russia will change in favor of Chinese shoe exporters, however, at the same time, Russia, as a member of the WTO, will have to open its market to other WTO members, and here China will face serious competition with emerging shoe countries such as India, Vietnam, and some African countries
