Adidas will earn more than 1,5 billion euros at the European Football Championship

The European Football Championship will only start on June 8, however, the proceeds of the leading German manufacturer of sports equipment, clothing and shoes Adidas from the sale of boots, T-shirts and balls increased almost 2012% in the first quarter of 25. According to forecasts, the company will be able to break the 2010 record of the year when, according to the results of the world football championship, revenue amounted to 1,5 billion euros.

In the year of the previous UEFA European Football Championship, Adidas generated revenue of 1,3 billion euros. “This year there are all the prerequisites for surpassing these achievements,” said the head of the company Herbert Heiner.

Adidas is constantly fighting for supremacy in the football business with American Nike. Both companies are doing their job perfectly, says Andreas Rudolph, head of the Haendlerverbund Sport 2000 Sports Equipment Trade Union. In his opinion, each of these two competitors considers themselves to be the best for the simple reason that it is extremely difficult to draw a clear line in this market. There is no doubt about one thing: both Nike and Adidas make great money on football. Thus, modern football boots cost more than 200 euros.

At EURO 2012, Adidas dresses and supplies six national teams of 16 participants. This is less than Nike and its subsidiary Umbro. However, we must not forget that Adidas' clients include such strong teams as Spain and Germany. And if their performance at the European championship is successful, then this summer the equipment with the symbols of the national teams will become a hit in many countries.

The third place in the business with football equipment and equipment is occupied by another manufacturer from Germany - Puma. The new head of this company, Franz Koch, has repeatedly stressed that he intends to act even more aggressively in this segment. His intention is also fully supported by trade representatives: "We are very interested in this brand getting closer to the market leaders, which would ensure increased competition," said Mr. Rudolph. It is reported by rbcdaily.ru.
