Stuart Weitzman Finds New Creative Director

Starting May 5 2017, Giovanni Morelli will become the new creative director of the luxury shoe brand Stuart Weitzman.

Until now, the position of creative director of the brand was taken by Stuart Weizmann himself, who was also the chairman of the board of directors of the company. Now Weizmann will retain the chair, and Morelli will report on his activities to CEO and brand president Wendy Kahn, who was approved at this position last month and will begin work on September 13.

Morelli is currently the Creative Director of Loewe, the Spanish luxury accessories brand.

Weizmann expects Giovanni Morelli to become the one who manages to preserve the brand identity and breathes new life into it through a creative vision of modern design. “Giovanni is respected for his attention to detail, quality and subtleties of craftsmanship, as well as for his sense of modernity, which in design always pushes to new borders,” he said.

Morelli's track record includes work experience at Prada, Burberry, Marc Jacobs and Chloé, where he led the design team for the product category of accessories and shoes.
