The Turkish Footwear Manufacturers Association - TASD - has collected humanitarian aid for the victims of the devastating earthquake that occurred in southeastern Turkey and Syria this Monday, February 6th. This is 30 pairs of winter shoes, as well as blankets, warm clothes for people whose houses are completely destroyed and who find themselves on the street literally without anything. The disaster occurred in the mountainous regions of the country, where it is quite cold in winter.
TASS information: powerful earthquakes in Turkey occurred on February 6, at least two shocks of magnitude 7,7 on the Richter scale were registered. Hundreds of aftershocks (aftershocks) were registered after the earthquakes. As of February 8, about 7 thousand people died as a result. National mourning has been declared in the country until February 12.
The devastating blow also fell on the territory of Syria, according to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, more than 1,5 thousand people became victims. Tens of thousands of people were affected in the two countries. Local authorities call the situation in the country a "humanitarian catastrophe."
